hey,
just put one of my super-8 movies online i you're interested. the subject matter probably isn't very interesting for most of you, since it's all from my sister's high school graduation, but there's some pretty nice super-8 footage in there. i wanted it to look like an old home movie, so it's shot on k40, handheld, edited in a jumpy style, and transferred to video with intentional flicker, and through a warming filter. this also means there are severe compression artefacts here and there, since flicker and motion are the hardest things to compress, but i think it's ok.

my apologies if it's too dark for you windows users. it's really hard to try and find something that works and still isn't too bright on a mac...

Very cool!
So how many frames a second was it?
Yah! I'm always interested in seeing online super 8 movies! I've never seen mine cause I don't have a projector. I hope to get one soon! Is the flickering sound actually the projector? Or did you just add that?
Also, what music is playing in the background.
How do you put it on a computer anyway?

hey, thanks.
it's mostly 24 fps, although some was shot at 18 and some at 36.
the sound is in fact the actual projector, even though i used the part where it sounded the best and duplicated that throughout.
the music is by a band called the concretes. they are friends of mine and really cool (guess you heard that). they have a new ep out that i believe has world distribution, if you're interested.
i put it on a computer via firewire from my dv camra to my mac and edited on fcp.
